Kirstine is a Developmental Educator with a degree in Disability Studies from Flinders University and is a member of the Developmental Educators Australia Inc. (DEAI). Kirstine has been working with children in a range of settings for over 25 years. As a Developmental Educator, Kirstine works with children, families and schools to teach functional skills, increase independence, improve emotional regulation and develop the social thinking skills of her clients. Kirstine is passionate about working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental delays and their families, in order to improve their quality of life and sense of well-being. Kirstine is trained in undertaking functional behavioural assessments and implementing positive behaviour support plans.
Kirstine works with children at their school or in their home environment where she provides individual therapeutic intervention, works on social skills in small groups and provides support to families and siblings. She provides valuable practical advice to educators and schools about supporting the needs of children with disability. Kirstine is also part of our team of therapists who provide on line support to clients using Teletherapy services such as videoconferencing, phone calls, emails or other direct messages
